  • Powdered Kava
  • Strainer bag (OR muslin cloth OR food-grade strainer bag)
  • Water
  • Clean Bowl

Pour desired amount of kava powder into your kava strainer bag*.

Place the strainer bog into an empty bowl and pour in the water. Let the kava bag soak in the water-filed bowl for 1-2 minutes. Ensure the kava powder stays inside the bag during this process

Knead and squeeze the strainer bag of kava powder in the water until only the fibres remain in the bag.

Remove the strainer bag from the bowl - your kava beverage is now ready to serve and enjoy!

Preparing Kava beverage in a shaker for convenience

Ingredients

  • 5 grams of powdered Kava
  • 250ml of water
  • 1 shaker preferably with a build in strainer or a separate strainer (alternatively, you can use a Nylon mesh food strainer)

Instructions

  1. Add root powder to the shaker
  2. Add water to the shaker
  3. Close the shaker and shake vigorously for about 30 seconds to 1 minute
  4. Let it sit for a few minutes to allow the Kava to steep
  5. Shake again for another 30 seconds to 1 minute
  6. Strain the mixture into a glass or cup using the in-built strainer or a separate strainer
  7. Discard the solids and reserve the liquid
  8. Serve and enjoy

Preparing Kava beverage in a blender for convenience

Ingredients

  • 5 grams of powdered Kava
  • 250ml of water
  • Strainer (alternatively, you can use a Nylon mesh food strainer bag)
  • Blender
  • Your favourite fruit (optional)

Instructions

  1. Add root powder to the blender
  2. Add water to the blender
  3. Close the blender and blend for 2 to 3 minutes
  4. Using a strainer bag, strain the blended mixture into a clean bowl, leaving behind a smooth liquid ready for consumption
  5. Serve and enjoy
